Megabass Moving Balancer System for the Deep-X Series and Bait-X
First, let us explain what kind of Megabass Moving Balancers are used for the Deep-X Series (and also Bait-X). There are several different Moving Balancers used in different Megabass baits, with each system designed to achieve a different purpose. In the case of the Deep-X Series (and Bait-X), there are three positions the balancer can move into:
- First, when casting it moves to the tail position, achieving better castability.
- Second, as soon as Deep-X hits the water, the balancer moves into the front position, ready to dive at a steep angle.
- Third, upon reaching the optimum swimming depth, the balancer now moves to the mid position, ready to move sideways. And Deep-X will start to swim horizontally. If you are after suspending fish, twitch and pause might be effective now.
- Finally, when Deep-X is ready to come to the surface at the end of the retrieve, the balancer moves back to the tail position, making it easier and faster to reel up.

A long-time favorite among Megabass fans, the Deep-X 200T was one of the first crankbaits in its depth category to feature a truly realistic bait-fish profile. While most of crankbaits are fat and shapeless, DEEP-X 200T is rather compact. streamlined and well-defined with a realistic baitfish profile from every viewing angle.
The Deep-X 200 is an incredibly versatile lure that can be fished in water depths of 5 to 14 feet. This makes it an excellent choice for fishing ledges, rocky or sandy banks, points, and over grass-beds. Megabass Pro Staffers have also reported great results with the Deep-X 200T while fishing through standing timber.
Sporting the famous Megabass Moving Balancer System, the Deep-X 200T casts like a bullet, and gets down to its maximum depth-range in a hurry. When the Deep-X 200T is out of its target range and on its way up, the balancers slide to the rear, allowing for a faster retrieve and quicker lure recovery time in order to cast once again.
The T in 200T means this is an improved version of the original Deep-X 200. Like 200, the 200T has a built-in Moving Balancer, which will move during casting, diving and retrieving to achieve the longest castability, steepest diving angle, and a tight wiggling action. The difference is 200T's balancer is no longer a lead-based alloy but made of tungsten composite material, which allows it to be smaller yet denser with a smoother surface and more perfect sherical shape. The Megabass Deep-X 300 was created in response to angler demand for a lure that increased the range of the Deep-X Series, providing greater depth and attention to detail, such as the realistic flared gill flaps. With its greater diving depth and much larger body size (water displacement) than the 100 or 200T, the 300 is the ultimate deep-cranking lure. The Deep-X 300 is perfect for offshore ledge fishing, sloping points and deep grass beds, and is especially effective when fish move deep after post-spawn, or when water temps are over 70 degrees.
The Deep-X 300’s Multi-Way Balancer system gets you down to a target depth of 15 to 18 feet in a hurry, while the life-like attention to detail, unique profile and killer action draw strikes as you retrieve the Deep-X 300 through the target zone.
As with its other Deep-X brothers, the 300 is equipped with the Megabass original Multi-Way Balancer System. That means the 300 will dive almost vertically in order to maximize the effective cranking distance and also responds to every little twitch or jerk you would like to send to the bait. All of the Deep-X Series crankbaits will let you do the conventional bottom-digging method for creating those strike-inducing irregular darting actions. But what makes the Deep-X Series so unique is their mid-water twitch/jerk action, which appeals to suspending fish that are relating to the bottom or structure, but holding above it, suspended at mid-depths.
