The Blitz Max is a little bit bigger, beefier crankbait than usual, designed to appeal to a little bit bigger, beefier bass. It has a semi-flat body, meaning it has both a rounded crankbait shape along with semi-flat, color-flashing sides that stir the water as it wobbles.

The Blitz Max body is noticeably bigger than the standard O.S.P. Blitz body.

The Blitz Max body is comparable to the O.S.P. Dai Buzzn's size. The difference is that the Dai Buzzn' is strictly a topwater crankbait whereas the beefy Blitz Max dives to six feet. You may manipulate how deep it goes by holding the rod tip higher or lower, varying the retrieve speed, and by using different line tests/types to target the depth you desire. Basically, the Blitz Max is a shallow runner.

The Blitz Max has great castability for long distance casting, but it is weighty enough to also pitch or swing it into tight cover somewhat like you'd pitch a jig or spinnerbait, and then crank the Blitz Max back, making sure to bounce it off anything in its path, which is the key to getting strikes.

Letting the Blitz Max make constant contact - plus pausing to let it float up - is the key to using the Blitz Max to its best advantage. So although it may dive 6 feet, you may want to use it on bottom or in cover that's shallower than that, to work the bait in a stop-and-go type presentation as it makes frequent contact. It will hang up a little, and the trick is not to hang it too deeply. Then let it back up and float up and over the object it was hung on. Often, the moment when the bait comes free from cover or bottom and resumes swimming - that is a high percentage strike point when it will get bit, and you should strive to produce that cover contact and recovery trigger as many times as possible during a retrieve. That's what the Blitz Max is designed to do best.

The thin, lightweight circuit board lip has a wide, square shape that allows the lure to avoid hang-ups. The lip shape helps maintain upright balance as it bumps cover, which helps prevent the lure and hooks from getting stuck.

It has a stationary weight in the belly that is designed to increase castability and maintain upright posture when bumping cover. The weight is fixed to aid in castability, action and snag-resistance, and does not rattle.

The insides of the body walls are constructed with a honeycomb pattern molded within the plastic walls. The honeycomb walls help maintain structural wall strength while reducing the amount and weight of plastic material  to keep the lure light and to increase buoyancy, while maintaining durability. The lightweight, buoyant body results in sharper, quicker swimming action and more responsive lure movements.

Look closely, and you may see the honeycomb wall structure molded on the inside of the lure body shown below.
