Megabass Vision 110 ~ The World's Most Legendary Jerkbait

Model: VISION 110
Length: 4-1/2" (110.5 mm)
Type: Slow Float/Suspend
Weight: 1/2 oz
Depth: 4 to 5 feet

The Megabass Vision 110 is a legendary bass fishing lure. Yuki Ito is the lure designer who is responsible for all Megabass lure concepts. Ito designed the Vision 110 specifically for the modern American style of fishing to be able to 'power fish' with a jerkbait. That was a revolutionary concept back in 2000 when Ito introduced it. It's not exactly a power-fishing bait any longer by today's standards, but at 1/2 oz and 4-1/2 inches long with three hooks, the 110 still is more powerful compared to many smaller jerkbaits that were in use in 2000 (when the 110 was introduced) and still today. Since it's introduction, other hardbait vendors have designed or added comparable, competitive models of elongated, slender models similar to the 110, but there's still really nothing else like the Vision 110. The 110 is widely considered to be 'the' very best and most productive jerkbait ever made for bass fishing.

Yes it still is a closely-guarded secret of the top bass pros in the USA even today. Almost all pros will have one (or more) tied on whenever bass are belting jerkbaits.

The jerkbaits listed here are the original and most famous model. Megabass calls this the "Slow Floating" model, yet it floats so slowly, it really is a suspending model for all practical purposes. Actually, when reeled down and paused underwater, it will sink slowly (hot water), suspend or float slowly up (cold water). So although it is called the "Slow Floating" 110, most anglers assume it is a suspending model, since that's actually how it behaves - like a typical suspending jerkbait does.

The profile, one-of-a-kind darting action, internal balance system and realistic color patterns all contribute to the incredible fish-catching ability of the Vision 110. The tungsten internal balancer system not only fuels the 110’s unparalleled action and huge flashes, but also allows the Vision 110 to cast like a bullet. This deadly deal is finished off with Katsuage out-barb treble hooks, designed to increase hook-setting percentages when powerfishing.

The Vision 110 excels when the water temps are between 38 to 70 degrees. During this time (especially from November to April in most U.S. waters), the Vision 110 is an excellent choice when fishing points, flats, rocky banks, bluffs, or over underwater grass beds. However, the Vision 110 can also be deadly around boat docks in the heat of the summer. Smallmouth anglers will find no better lure that the Vision 110; in northern waters, smallmouth bass will attack this lure from spring to fall.

The wide range of colors available for the Vision 110 make this bait effective in virtually all water clarity conditions, but as with jerkbaits in general, clear to stained water is ideal.

About 110 colors, it is true certain colors are most-prized by anglers. A list of colors that have a cult-like following include: GP Pro Blue, Ito Natural, Elegy Bone, GG Deadly Black Shad IL, GW Stealth Flash, GP Skeleton Tennessee, HT Ito Tennessee Shad to name a few.

On the other hand, a wide range of 110 colors are all dark-backed, light-bellied baitfish patterns that work swell and really overlap or are similar colors to each other anyway. Point here is, don't get sidetracked if you can't find a particular color, there are many other other available colors that will work fine.

Megabass paint patterns often use strategic shots of color, such as the orange belly or purple tail to attract strikes.

Line size will affect the depth the 110 is able to reach, running about 5 feet deep on 8 lb test to around 4 feet on 15 lb test.

Try the Vision 110 on your next fishing trip, and find out firsthand why this lure is legend!

Enjoy Power Fishing. A design concept for the 110 was to create a true power jerkbait for hard-core power fishermen. Around the time it was created (approx. 2000), most jerkbaits used in the USA and Japan were lighter, smaller, more delicate models requiring relatively lighter tackle. The Vision 110 was one of the first built with the robust size body and features made for a little heavier tackle than other jerkbaits of the time

Tight Rolling Action. Unlike other jerkbaits which have compound curved surfaces, the 110 is semi-flat on top, bottom and both sides. In between the belly hooks, it has a flattened belly section that helps creates a wonderful underwater slide action to left and right. It has a tight action when reeled, and even when jerked or twitched, it has a crisp, tight action to its dart.

The 110's unique underbelly design allows it to tight-roll even in rough conditions or current.

Inside are twin precision balancers made of tungsten composite material. The balancers are two tungsten balls, very small and very dense. The quick and responsive movement of the tungsten balancer balls improves the 110's castability and jerking action.

Twin tungsten balancers roll into the sharply pointed tail section for incredible casting ease, stability, accuracy and distance.

Super High Castability. The 110's spherical balancers made of tungsten composite move to the very rear of the bait, reducing vibration and wobble caused by air resistance in flight. The tungsten balancers are also critical to 110's crisp jerking action.

The tail is tapered sharply, almost a sharp point, to assist in cutting through the air for casting distance. The two balancers move to the tapered tail tip tail at the time of the cast, so it really flies. The balls move to the belly, behind the front hook for low center of balance when jerking and twitching.

Balancers roll down raceway and settle behind front hook hanger for duration of the retrieve.

Simply by winding in, it has a tight side-rolling action. Jerking and ripping, it flashes its sides as it suddenly shoots sideways in a panicked, irregular escape action. Whatever action it exhibits can be categorized as tight. In terms of angler-imparted action, the 110 is ideal for jerking with shorter distance darts, and with sudden movements.

There's also a stationary ingot of weight in the head section, and that helps give the 110 a head-down posture whenever paused. When reeling or jerking, the head is pulled up. When paused, the head falls down. So you have wobbling, swimming action, plus darting left and right when jerked or twitched, along with an up/down action (due to the weighted head) when pulled and paused respectively. A final action is a residual belly wobble or vibration when the lure comes to rest after a jerk or twitch. So there are multiple actions and a lot of attraction in the Vision 110. No wonder it's one of the world's great jerkbaits.

Equipped with Katsuage Treble Hooks. The 110 is equipped with Megabass original Katsuage hooks. These have an out-barb, out-point and are wide gap with a 'near-center' seat for the hook to stay pinned. These trebles are specifically designed for jerkbait bites, which are often tricky. Fish don't always engulf jerkbaits as straighforwardly as other lures.
