Koppers Live Target Blueback Herring ~ Jointed Swimbait ~ Slow Sinking and Fast Sinking

Koppers Live Target Blueback Herring ~ Jointed Swimbait ~ Slow Sinking and Fast Sinking

Overview

Most anglers grossly underestimate the decision-making process of gamefish, claims lure designer Grant Koppers who has watched gamefish approach lures 4-5 times trying to decide whether to strike or not. Grant has watched hungry, feeding fish reluctantly decide to turn away from many popular lures.

To overcome that natural wariness is why Grant's lures are finished in such extraordinary detail. The "texture" (meaning the overall details and finish of Koppers lures) allows gamefish to feel a little surer that it is a food item.

Koppers lures are not only painted like the real thing, but have swimming actions designed to provoke strikes.

The finishes are designed to imitate the real thing, but are also artistic or impressionistic in that some features or colors may be exaggerated or emphasized or not 100% match the actual baitfish in some regards. For instance, the ability to cast flash off the finish and colors on his lures sides and belly as they move through the water is also an important design goal, and Grant Koppers has built "flashpoints" into each model so that the finish and colors "flash" at gamefish as a lure rolls or wiggles past, producing excitement and stimulating a reaction strike.

Koppers lures comes with detailed instruction sheets on how to use each model.

Kopppers has hit a home run with bass anglers regarding the 4-1/2" Blueback Herring. These have the perfect shape, action, solid construction and strong hooks that bass anglers were jonesing for in a blueback herring imitation - and Koppers nailed it. Note there are two sizes Koppers makes, but let me point out that "the one" you want is the 4-1/2 inch size.

Koppers LIVETARGET Blueback Herring is the ideal bait when gamefish target schooling herring. Its slender body is a triple segmented fuselage supported by tandem hinges. It offers an appealing profile and action from all predatory views. The "flashpoint" of moving body colors being seen by a fish is an important concept of all Koppers' creations, and the Blueback Herring swimbait has a particularly tantalizing flashpoint effect.
