Megabass Diving Flap Slap ~ Flat Sided Crankbait

Type: Medium deep-diving crankbait. Flat-sided.
Body Length 3" (77 mm) excluding lip
Weight: 3/8 oz
Depth: 6 feet

The Diving Flap Slap may be fished like a crankbait with steady reeling, or jerked and twitched like a jerkbait. It works either way.

This flat-sided, shad-shaped lure has a unique, thin balancing rod shaft running along the length of its belly. The shaft helps the lure to roll widely, flashing its flat sides. The rolling flat sides create a lot of water displacement and agitation. When it is twitched or jerked, the lure darts and flashes, and there is a residual pendulum motion where the lure rocks back and forth a little before coming to rest - that's what's meant by the "flap & slap" action

Handy comparison of the Diving Flap Slap (bottom) and Megabass most famous lure, the Vision 110 (top).

The Diving Flap Slap's lip takes it down to six feet deep.

The cut-out angles on the sides of the lip is designed to help the Diving Flap Slap roll onto its side when the lip deflects off bottom or an obstruction, and then the lure will shoot upward on its side and re-right itself.

Megabass paint patterns often use strategic shots of color, such as the chartreuse belly swatch or purple tail to attract strikes.
